Windows 7 Beta (build 7000) 64-bit
// January 7th, 2009 // 7, Microsoft, Windows
Windows 7 beta was leaked onto torrent sites a while ago, however only the 32-bit version of the operating system was leaked. Today the 64-bit version of the operating system was spotted on torrent sites and is ready to be downloaded! Also, Stevel Ballmer announced the immediate availability of the Windows 7 public beta today at the CES ‘09 show.
A trusted and working copy (ISO) can be found on The Pirate Bay, here — I recommened that you use BitTorrent to download it. Please note that this is the 64-bit version.
The easiest method to install Windows 7 would be to partition your hard drive (I gave it 70GB), then mount the ISO with Daemon Tools and choose to install it onto your newly created, and formatted, partition. You do not need to burn the ISO to a disk, mounting the ISO with Daemon Tools works just fine — please note that your computer will be restarted multiple times during the installation, so choose a time when you’re not busy to install the operating system as it can take upwards to about 15-20 minutes.
